Privacy, security and HIPAA

Step 1 of 6: Who can see your information. Scroll to Care team. Only people who joined your circle can see it. What each person can do depends on their role.

Step 2 of 6: The owner decides who stays. The owner taps a family member. Remove from circle takes away their access. Close without changing anything.

Step 3 of 6: Decide about usage analytics. Go back to your list of circles. Tap the person icon to open Profile. Usage analytics is your choice. It never includes readings, medication names or notes.

Step 4 of 6: Read the privacy policy. Keep scrolling down. Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are here.

Step 5 of 6: Sign in with Face ID. Turn on Face ID login under Security. Your face never leaves your phone.

Step 6 of 6: Your data, your choice. Download my data saves a copy of your information. You can delete your account at any time.

Free on iOS and Android.

Who can see your information

Only people who joined your circle. What each person can do depends on their role, and these rules are checked on our servers, not only in the app. See Owners, caregivers, care recipients and view-only.

The circle owner, or a manager (for caregivers only), can remove someone at any time: in "Care team", tap the person, then "Remove from circle". They lose access to the circle.

How it is protected

  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
  • Data is stored in the United States.

Ads and selling data

There are no ads in CircleCare. We do not sell your information and do not share your health data with advertisers.

HIPAA

CircleCare is a consumer app for families. It is not HIPAA compliant and we do not sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), on any plan. If your organization needs HIPAA compliance, CircleCare is not the right tool for that.

Usage analytics

In Profile, under "Privacy", the "Usage analytics" switch lets you choose whether usage data and crash reports linked to your account are shared to help us improve CircleCare. They never include your readings, medication names or notes. With it off, we still collect anonymous, session-only data that is never linked to you. On the web, the same choice is "Share usage data" in Profile.

Signing in

  • There is no two-step (two-factor) sign-in.
  • On your phone you can turn on Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint sign-in under "Security" in Profile (it shows when your phone has one set up). Your fingerprint or face never leaves your phone.
  • Use a strong password, or sign in with Google or Apple.

Your data, your choice

Read the full privacy policy. In the app, "Privacy Policy" and "Terms of Service" are in Profile, under "Support".
