Write daily care notes

Step 1 of 5: Open Care, then Notes. Tap Care at the bottom. Then tap Notes at the top.

Step 2 of 5: Write how the day went. Tap the box that says How was the day? Type what happened today.

Step 3 of 5: Add a mood and categories. Optional: pick a mood, like Good day. And one or more categories, like Meal.

Step 4 of 5: Tap Post. Tap Post. Your note shows under Today, with your name.

Step 5 of 5: Edit or delete it later. The pencil edits your note, the trash deletes it. Change it and tap Save, or tap Cancel. The note stays as it was.

Free on iOS and Android.

Steps

  1. Open your circle and tap “Care” at the bottom, then the “Notes” tab at the top.
  2. Type in the box that says “How was the day?”.
  3. Optionally pick a mood (“Great day”, “Good day”, “Okay” or “Tough day”) and one or more categories: “Meal”, “Medication”, “Visit” or “Incident”.
  4. Tap “Post”.
  5. To change or remove your note later, tap the pencil icon (“Edit note”) or the trash icon (“Delete note”) on it.

Daily notes are a shared journal for the person you care for. Use them for how the day went, what they ate, a visit, or anything worth remembering.

Good to know

  • A note needs some text or a mood. You can post a mood on its own.
  • Each note is filed under the day you post it, in the care recipient's time zone.
  • Notes can be up to 2,000 characters.
  • The week's moods show as a small strip above the list ("This week: ...").
  • Everyone in the circle can read every note. Notes are not private to the author.

Who can do what

  • Anyone in the circle who can edit can write notes. A view-only member can read them but not post.
  • Only the person who wrote a note can edit it.
  • The author or the circle owner can delete a note. Deleting removes it for everyone.

When people are told

Members who have the Notes notification group turned on get a push when someone adds a note. The push never shows what the note says. See Quiet hours and turning notifications off.

On a computer

In the web companion, open Notes in the sidebar (under Care). The box is labelled Add a note and works the same way.

Looking further back

The Notes list opens on the last two weeks, and Show older notes goes back as far as you like. See Find older notes.
